Title: Spectroscan purple of green?
Post by: aaronchan on August 04, 2018, 03:12:12 am
Hi

I’m thinking to buy a spectroscan from eBay. I know it is a super old machine and super slow but I still need it for some specific reason.
Anyway, on eBay, I see some are in purple color and some are in green color. Are they the same or different?

Thanks
Aaron

I seem to remember that they were green in late 1990s/early 2000s and changed to purple in the early 2000s.
May have adopted USB then, or did they need a (Keyspan?) converter?
Cheers,
Phil

If memory serves, the purple has a 'built in' dongle for ProfileMaker Pro. The other doesn't.
I don't recall there ever being a unit that supported USB. I drove my though a Keyspan adaptor at the time.
