The new not-normal in the American West.
-
It's beautiful. I'd have liked a little more space at the top, though.

Well, that's wave-form indeed. I like it.

Above the centre-right cloud feature? Yeah, just a tough would probably feel nice, but wow is this a great shot. Great exposure and depth and colours. Just wonderful.

Beautiful, and I too like the sine wave cloud
-
This is special.

From great tragedy comes great beauty.

Breathtaking shot!

Exactly. Not that it isn't great as it is, but the striving for perfection goes on...

Exactly where to draw the line is always an internal debate, and I take your point. How about this?
-
Yes. More is better!
-
Is that Mt. Hood or Lassen ?
-
This is a beauty.

Yes. Precisely.

Looks like Mt. Hood to me. Smoke does make for spectacular skies…the revised crop of this pic is a gem.
When I lived in Cali I loved hiking in the Lassen National Forest and Park area. Around this time last year some friends & I had to cancel a hiking trip there due to our planned route being ablaze. :-\

+1.

That little extra space, breathing room, is wonderful. It's a gorgeous shot.

Thanks to all of you for your supportive and constructive comments. The crop with the extra room at the top is clearly superior; not sure why I didn't do it that way to start with.
To those of you wondering about the location, it is Mt. Jefferson in the central Oregon Cascades. The smoke was blowing up mostly from the large Garner Complex fire in southern Oregon, about 150 miles to the southwest.

Nice.
