Title: A7rII weirdness
Post by: alatreille on July 23, 2018, 01:49:17 pm
Hi all,

The last week, my A7rII has shown a rather weird trait.
I'm in manual mode and tethered.

It seems to randomly be resetting itself to f8 / iso100 and 1/50th of a second.

Has anyone else had this happen to them.  It's getting rather frustrating.

Cheers

Andrew

I have the A7R2 as well and shoot tethered a lot. In fact mostly tethered. I have not ever experienced the behaviour you describe. How do you tether? I was using the Sony software and downloading the i ages to a hot folder that Lightroom auto imported from. It was an complete PITA. Had a lot of random stuff happen but not what you describe.

Changed to C1.

Do you have anything plugged into the hotshoe? I have sometimes seen strange settings appear when something metal such as a mount for an external monitor is in the hotshoe and touches all those tiny metal contacts at the front. I've also had corrosion on those pins cause problems.

Yup. Working in C1.

I noticed this morning that it seems to occur when i disconnect the tether cord or if the computer goes to sleep monitor turns off.

Weird.
