It could make a rather splendid print if the printer were careful and knew what he was doing.

Revisited this image several times. It does unfortunately reveal the limits of my ancient monitor. I want and need a well calibrated 10bit display for this.

Thanks for the comments guys.  I'm going to have a go at printing but I foresee large numbers of test prints. Have to wait for a rainy day.Chuck

I agree that it's a very pleasing image - and my first thought when I saw it was "that's going to take a good deal of effort to print". I suspect it will be worth it in the end, though.
