I really like the last one.  The other two are OK.

Each of these seems to have benefited from some thought being given to the composition. So many good photographers seem to go onto the street and forget to use their compositional skills or maybe I'm just being unkind.

I'd be curious to know if the first one was 'shot from the hip' or you got down low and used a viewfinder.

You are not unkind, Mike. You’re observations are correct. Even worse, lots of peoples with a camera go on the street and shoot around. Result in no interaction, no composition, no plan behind light, color, graphic etc etc. Shooting in the back, terrasse photography, museum visitors as subject, street performers are subject, disabled or poor, etc etc. That’s why I call them people with a camera and not ‘photographer’. It takes a bit more than owning a camera and running lightroom on a Mac.
Ok, this is unkind, I guess.

I do this kind of shooting with my GR. It is already for years my favorite street camera. I owned the digital II, IV and recently I picked up a GRII for half the price.

I didn’t do a lot street the last years because my actual interest is documenting ‘today’

I have a way of walking with this little camera, I use it with a strap around my neck, sometimes I raise the camera, sometime just from the chest. Depending the situation. It doesn’t matter. One thing that matters is walking the street in the good direction with the light in the faces of the peoples, especially in harsh light.
The rest is interception and keeping eyes open.

I sometimes use a small Nikon D5300 at waist or chest level.  I can swivel the LCD screen so it is horizontal and look down on it.  Very similar to using a Rolleiflex with waist level finder.  When you are looking down instead of at your subject, they don't seem to pay any attention to you. :)

#3 looks like an Allen (Bourgeois) photo. This is a compliment! Haven't seen Allen around in a long time…

Hi Ivo - I missed your replies as I visit less frequently these days.

I think I can sympathise with your 'people with a camera' idea. but street is hard and we all have our own ideas.

With notable exceptions it's not a very rewarding place to visit.

I still mourn the passing of PhotoSIG.
