Good shooting, Fursan. Here's another, from Korea in 1953.

How times change?
And you have kept the past alive. Great.

What's the game?

I think the one in Korea is mahjong. I can't identify the one Fursan's fine shot.

I think it is not mahjong, Russ: that's played with hands of tiles. It could be shogi, perhaps.

I'm sure you're right, Jeremy. I'm no expert on games like this. I prefer poker, especially five card stud, which is the real thing.

Guys, I frankly have no clue.
If it helps any of you, it was taken in the PRC.
Thanks for stopping by.

Yes; it's called shogi in Japan, I think. I'm not sure about the cross on the board in Fursan's picture.

Ha, this is GO. challenging game!
I recognize the scene. When I play GO with my wife I sit concentrated as hell and she digs in here purse, fiddles with here cellphone, instruct the cat to stay out the sofa and tells me I have a longer hair in my eyebrow.
And she wins the game on one leg.
Damnit.

Magnificent game. I used to play a lot, when I was a student, until life intervened.
