Title: Clowning Around
Post by: RSL on June 02, 2018, 09:15:40 am
This clown is sitting next to the street. There's even a street in the picture. But it's not street photography. It's informal portraiture. I agree that's not any more important than the question whether or not a picture of a tree, or the bark on a tree, is landscape. So why do we attempt to put varieties of art into genres? I think it's a question of convenience.

It's probably about a sense of belonging in some parts, and in other parts about marketing.
