... fleeing Miami before Alberto. No, not really. Neither last, nor Alberto. Just my artistic interpretation of the doom and gloom mongering. It was a regular May thunderstorm in Miami. No, not really... just my artistic interpretation :)

EDITED to replace the image on Flicker with one with a slightly higher contrast

Very effective.
I thought it might be a commentary on the recent forum discussions on political subjects, like climate and Street photography. ;)

Ok... not much love for interpretative processing on LuLa, I guess?
-
I like it a lot!

it doesn't feel foreboding to me. Just gray.

Overexposed and underdeveloped on Grade 1 paper. Matt.

Actually, I really like it (particularly the slightly adjusted version). It's just been one of those weeks between work and study and life - I only got to go through about half the forum photos until now (Saturday morning) and some I saw and liked but didn't have time to comment.
What I particularly like is that the subject is so small - it just works for me.
-
I like it too.
Phil and I have good taste.
-
Took me a while, but it's a good one, Slobodan. Very nice.
-
The latest version is better, at least on screen. I think a big print would be stunning.

Didn't you once give me a good old dig in the ribs for posting an unnecessarily "dark artsy fartsy" processed image on here about four years ago Slobodan?
Oh yes you did...!
But anyway, I like it, so welcome to the dark side Slobodan.... Dark Side (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onhFH7jpq2c)

If i did, I must have been right. I am always right. I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken ;)

Another over-the-top processed rain shot:

It's fun to see how you're taking in Florida. I like what you're venturing into with black and white.

+1.
It's nice to see you letting loose!

I like the image - but (in my opinion) it would be brutal to print and I'm not sure there's enough dynamic contrast in a paper print to maintain the effectiveness when even on screen the subtle differences are just barely enough (again IMO).
Edit - this as referring to the first image. The second one (the rainstorm) sings to me :)

I think you are right, James. I am thinking of metallic paper? It would require a lot of experimentation, I am sure. Perhaps lifting up the contrast, based on paper, just to reach the same visual effect as on screen.
Apropos... I often have to add 1/3 f/stop exposure to images resized to 800px for viewing here, for instance. While the image might look right on a 27" monitor, once resized it appears much darker.
In other words, both medium and size matter.

I think this is what you want for that first image Slobodan - HD Metal Print (https://uk.whitewall.com/photo-lab/alu-dibond/hd-metal-print). I know this is a UK link, but I am sure you have the same thing on the other side of the pond ;D
I have a really dark sunset from winter and it is a huuuge pano beast of a thing, and have been thinking of splashing out on one of these and haven't dared ask the boss yet. So you get one done Slobodan and tell me what it is like.
No, I am just kidding. ;D ;D ;D
But I bet it would look really good..

Yep, or backlit film - I think both would work really well for that image (and the rainstorm).

I've had interesting results with the metallic papers that are out there - MOAB's Slickrock is what I've used the most. It very well might be good choice here, but I've had some funky color results - I'm not convinced that MOAB's profile is quite spot on ;) (But for B+W I've gotten some nice output).
