Title: Question on Hassy H4D-40 LR or Phocus
Post by: rollsman44 on May 27, 2018, 07:05:29 am
I just purchased this system and I used to own one a few years ago. I used the Older Version of Phocus back then.  Is the Newer Version better or is LR6 a Better choice for the Best IQ .  Thanks

Hi as the raw processor phocus is excellent(I use color checker card on every shoot). Also sometimes I shoot tethered and it work smooth.

I shoot tethered 99% of the time and just compared doing so with Phocus and LR4.4.  Phocus is a somewhat faster to show a preview and Phocus mobile works smoothy and seamlessly with Phocus. With LR, so far, I'm able to control the H5D form a phone or pad, but it will not show reviews or captures (over firewire). Being the native software Phocus will also milk the best out of the image, but no detailed tests as yet.

Having had all sorts of BS tethering directly to LR with Nikon (vs. using a hot folder), I'm set on Phocus.
