Title: Mandela Square
Post by: Martin Kristiansen on May 23, 2018, 04:57:10 am
Enough of figuring out what defines this category. I’m fairly sure this fits. Mandela square I. Upmarket Sandton north I’d Johannesburg. I always found it odd that this place was chosen as a home for the Mandela statue.

Aahh!

What used to be known as Sandton Square...
Looks the same as I remember it - apart from the statue that is!

I still travel regularly to South Africa, and southern Africa, but suburban shopping centres are not high on my list of itinerary priorities I have to confess!

Nice shot, and nice likeness of good ole Nelson!

Yes Sandton Square it was. I also hardly ever go there. My partner was hosting a visitor from Poland and she asked to go. I overcame my reluctance and decided to try and do some photography in a place I regard as rather sterile.

Yes, I think I understand, an allergy to shopping - apart from toys-for-boys, that is! ;D
