Field Horsetail ( Equisetum arvense L.) cones are now shedding their spores,... spring is here for sure.
I highly cropped the image to show cone detail.
135mm - 1/100 sec @ f2 ISO 100

As interesting as the plant is, I actually like the background more!! :o

Thank you framah--
Yes the bokeh caught my interest when I was doing PP work on that mornings captures, even thou the Horsetail cone was my initial subject.
A lot of the background was cropped away, which I was reluctant to do, but next time I will be more aware of other "hidden" subjects,... e.g., an abstract as a subject. I still need to get more experience with the Zeiss 135mm f2 to be more aware of those "hidden" creative potentials.
Thanks for your comment.

My thought exactly, the bokeh is very nice.

I like very much the correspondences (even in the colors) between the vertical patterns on the stem and those of the background. The break of these correspondences by the cone is also interesting.

Ok...
I had to go look it up and now I know what it means:
bokeh
noun
a Japanese term for the subjective aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas of a photographic image.
That's what i thought. ;D
