B&H is offering a whopping $20 off the price of a Sony A7Riii kit. That's a whopping 1/2 of 1% discount!!

In the early 80s, there existed one of the early hypermarkets down in Palma (Continente), about 60 klicks away from our place in the north of the island. Folks here would remark that it was only the Brits would drive 120 klicks to save a few pesetas on a couple of bottles of wine. And that was well before the motorways were built.
The idea of a "bargain" overpowers common sense, in many cases.

I'll take two. Think of the profit I could make by reselling.
I'm reminded of a sign outside a tyre shop: "buy any three tyres for the price of four and get the fourth absolutely free!".

I usually see the equivalent joke at drinking establishments.

Yes, I've seen that too. Another is "Tonight's special offer: buy two drinks and pay for them both!".

Any discount is better than no discount.
I am surprised that they are offering any discount on that camera. I don't think they are having a hard time selling them.

Perhaps the money is actually via a coupon for future purchases?
