If you plan to travel in Germany, and want to stay mainly in Berlin and Munich, you might consider the new high-speed train between the two cities instead of driving or flying. The almost 600km trip from downtown to downtown takes only 4 hours (vs 6 hours by car in good traffic) and there are 3 departures every day in both directions.
BTW, a train from Berlin to Prague has been also speeded up and now it takes also only 4.5 hours. So you could fly to Munich for a day or two, from there take a train to Berlin, stay there a few days, take another train to Prague and from there fly back home, and thus avoid renting a car and parking problems.
