In the video blog interview with phase one we are told of new P20 (I think) backs now being priced at under $10000 so as to allow users into the mf back market at a lower cost.
How does this pricing compare to aptus 17 back etc. (new /refurb etc) and hasselblad backs.
Of course the aptus has its rectangular format and therfore extra sensor space but it would be interesting to see what kind of prices are around at the lower end of the digital back market.

... As mentioned by Steve Hendrix on this Forum, in the US refurbished Aptus-17 were sold for ~ USD 7,700. (there were over 100 units coming from the Hallmark Institute, that did an upgrade deal). That was probably one of the best offers recently ti get a unit with full warranty. Older Valeos go for less on ebay.
I think that prices for Aptus-22 (right now I guess around $15k) will come down too pretty fast when the S-upgrades to the Aptus line will be shipping.

Phase One did announce a new price structure for all new digital backs. The P20 (16 mp) digital back with a 1 year warranty is selling for $7,990.00 USD. This is a new digital back, not a refurb.
Also, the P21 (18 mp) saw a big price drop, the new unit with a 1 year warranty is now $11,990.00.
Additional warranties are availalble.

Are the new P20 and P21 Phase One backs at these reduced prices the new Plus versions? Or just new stock of the current older spec backs.

seems like phase is the first one out the gate with prices..now the others have to adjust....but really the prices won't change much...the older backs sell a little cheaper and the newer ones stay in the same range...
i wonder how the P25 or older full frame chips will do...the most expensive factor about making chips is the size...so a larger chip is more expensive to make then a smaller with more cells on it...so a 22mpix P25 should still be more expensive then a 31mpix P30+....

P25 PLUS with a one year warranty---$23,990.00 USD
P25 PLUS with a three year warranty ---$26,990.00 USD
Please remember these are list prices, dealers do have trade in programs and specials from time to time, you should use these numbers as a guide and always contact your Phase One dealer for the best possible price for your individual situation.

im a bit dissapointed in the p30+ cost, i was hoping for around 15k. i thought 15k was the going rate for the p30(non plus)?
