Title: Jinbei/Caler TRS-V , how to use two at once
Post by: gebseng on March 02, 2018, 11:48:20 am
Hi everyone on the forum,

I recently purchased two Jinbei/Caler ECD-V 1000 monolights and two fitting Jinbei TRS-V remote triggers. Both are great btw, they seem well built and very reliable so far.

These remotes are pretty basic, you can only pick a channel between 0 and 15, control the flash output and of course trigger the flash. There is no option to fire two different flashes on different channels.

Since I need to control the output on my two monolights independently, I bought two TRS-V remotes and set the to two different channels, so one remote only controls one flash.

My idea was to mount both remotes on this dual hot shoe:

Even though this seemed straight forward to me, it doesn't work for unknown reasons. If I attach both remotes, only one flash fires (no matter if I try the left or right shoe).

So, my question: can you think of another system that allows me to attach two remote triggers to one camera hot shoe, and trigger them simultaneously?

best,

geb

Have you considered putting one of the flashes in slave mode? Then you only need one trigger on camera.
