Title: Problem with Silverfast 8.8 Demo?

I am playing with a new ( to me ) Epson Perfection V750 Pro scanner and a demo version of SilverFast 8.8 to see if it works well enough to be worth purchasing
I have run into a weird glitch that I can't get around - I cannot get the Picture Settings Sliders ( Midtone, Contrast, Saturation ) to "activate" for use
Sliders won't move off 0
Any idea how I can get them to work so I can continue my experiment?

First off, if you are serious about getting the best scans from your 750 I recommend SF8 Ai Studio. I have not used Epson Scan myself though. Don't know why the the Picture Settings sliders aren't working. Maybe you need to apply some adjustment first? Try using the ACC [ Auto Color Correction ] the button next to Prescan and then see if Picture Settings sliders work.

I have found ACC sets a reliable white point but doesn't set a black point. Need open Histogram, [levels], and set the black point manually per color channel.

I have never tried Picture Setting sliders before ACC. I do use the Midtown slider occasionally.
