Title: Adobe Churches of New Mexico

Peiker on December 26, 2017, 08:30:34 am: Having lived in New Mexico through much of the '80's and the first half of the '90's I really appreciate the new article and the images contained in it. I have seen many of the places myself although 30 years earlier. It's also great to read that Camera and Darkroom is still around. That was one of my weekly "must patronize" businesses back then. A big feeling of nostalgia reading this...

It is also great that LULA helped make the project possible!

Their chief competitor, Cinder Block Corporation, never came up with a workable replacement for either PS or LR. ::)

I have seen the beauty of a few Adobe churches on my one trip to that area, but I knew nothing about the details of their construction or the need for regular renewal by skilled workers.

The photographs are excellent and I hope a travelling exhibit will result.

Sadly, the man who started it (Grant, a dear friend) passed in 2014.
