Title: C1Pro, MediaPro & Photo Supreme
Post by: ski542002 on December 12, 2017, 10:42:56 am
Good morning.  Am an avid user (but still learning) C1Pro11.  Have used MediaPro since it's inception as iView MediaPro.  There have been discussions that Phase One will not update MediaPro to 16 bit which could kill operability with Apple's future OS updates.  I've been looking at Photo Supreme  http://www.idimager.com/WP/?page_id=20  as a fallback and am wondering if anyone on the forums has any user experience with Photo Supreme? I have more than a decade of iView catalogs, so updating will be a bit laborious but may be necessary in the near future.

Graham (a.k.a. myotis) alerted me to the existence of Neofinder, which is a very powerful cataloguing software that may meet your needs:

Hi:  Will need to investigate NeoFinder. Reviewing their site, the application seems to index a lot more than just image-files across an entire system. Might end up getting both!

Thanks for the information.

I use both media pro and Neofinder and together they are a strong team...

Hope Phase-one will continu to develop mediapro, but up until now it was only a different look and bug fixes...

I second the comment about Phase continuing MediaPro development! When iViewMediaPro was sold to Microsoft, the product was almost destroyed. Phase purchased and I thought, great!  Now, I'm not too sure about it's future.  C1Pro's strongpoint is definitely not image asset management. They'd be taking a step backwards if they stop future development.  I'd actually love to see more integration of MediaPro to the C1Pro interface.  Time will tell!
