Hello, I am looking for a decent compact camera mainly for wildlife and portraits. Mostly for photos and not so much for videos. Ideally it would come with a zoom (300mm). Any suggestion for under $600? Thanks in advance, Marie

Perhaps a used EM5 or EM10 and a used Panasonic 100-300 zoom ?

Depending on your definition of "decent" and "compact": https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/2017-buying-guide-best-enthusiast-long-zoom-cameras/3
There also these with smaller sensors but longer lenses:

This is a little more than your budget, but a very nice and compact kit

Thank you all for your suggestions. It is for a teenager friend. He loves wildlife and it will be his first camera!
