Title: Capture One for Sony - black squares appearing at random in converted images
Post by: shadowblade on November 28, 2017, 10:25:36 pm
Just today, I've noticed random black squares appearing all over images converted using Capture One for Sony. (cropped examples attached)

The squares don't show up in the preview in Capture One, even when zoomed in - they are only seen in the final TIFF file. They appear to occur at random, throughout each image, not correlating with particular areas of light and dark (unlike, say, the initial 'black dot' problem with the 5D2, which was associated with highlights).

The images were shot on an A7r with 24-70 f/2.8 GM.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know what's causing it? It's making an otherwise-great program completely unusable.

Never mind, just had to disable hardware acceleration for processing. Takes four times as long to process each image without acceleration, though.

Check to see if there is an updated video driver for your card and if there is, retry checking the hardware acceleration.
