Title: Getting Ready for Apple's 64-bit World
Post by: JayWPage on November 26, 2017, 02:04:53 pm
The next Apple OS update after High Sierra will apparently only run 64-bit applications. This is expected to arrive sometime next year and so I am starting to prepare for this eventuality. I use Photoshop CS6, having declined to move to the monthly subscription version, and while Photoshop CS6 and Adobe bridge CS6 are both 64-bit, some of the associated Adobe programs are 32-bit. It seems unlikely that Adobe will update any of these legacy programs to 64-bit so I wonder how important these programs are to Photoshop CS6 ?

Specifically:
                    CS6 Service manager
                    Adobe Extension Manager CS6
                    Adobe Application Manager
                    Adobe Application Manager (URIHandler)

There are various other 32-bit Adobe programs buried in the directories but I can't really say what Adobe products they are associated with, having installed/deleted a variety of Adobe programs over the years. But I am concerned about Photoshop. Does anyone know if the above listed programs are removed or are unable to run in a 64-bit environment what effect it will have on running Photoshop CS6?
