Shot this yesterday when we had nice skies. I drive past it most everyday, but yesterday it jumped out in front of me so I had to pull over and get a few shots.

I like it! Pleasing tones. I wouldn’t object to a somewhat wider view, but then again there are focal length and vantage point restrictions to consider. Not to mention matters of taste, of course. :)

Nice tones and light, but I agree the framing esp. below is a little confusing, as it cuts of lots of things. I guess you did it that way because there's only chaos or ugly things, I understand. Maybe one might fade the lower part to black or something, but of course thats even more very artificial. (Just thinking aloud)

Thanks for the nice, and insightful, comments. Here's a wider view. Next time I will jump up on the ol' Accord and shoot from the roof to get a better viewpoint (the tripod feet will settle nicely into the hail dents).
Also, you can see where I "fixed" the HERO graffiti.

Framing is my major quibble here.
Otherwise the idea, and light, is great.

I like the 2nd picture way better. The fence gives a good basis there, for me. And it feels like a whole view, not just part of it.
-
I went back yesterday and got up on top of my car to get better vantage point. Skies were decent.
I might have to rent a moving van to get even higher! JK
But right after I got a few shots off, someone drove up and told me to leave even though I was outside the fence.

It's getting harder to photograph something without being suspicious ...
I cannot remember whom it shows, but isn't there a photo of some famous photographer standing on top of his van with a huge tripod?! Someone knows the picture I mean?

Absolutely agree :)

Look, who else could it be ...:

Thanks for being open about the framing. I think that sometimes folks don't say anything critical about a photo for whatever reason. I personally like the framing and I respect those that don't. I take photos for myself, but I like to hear critical reviews of my work. Thanks!

I believe that Mr. Ansel Adams used to shoot from the roof of his vehicle.
I love climbing onto the roof of my beater Accord to get a better vantage of the scene.

Neat place. I agree with the others that second one is better. The next visit looks nice as well.

I stopped by the Sugar Mill on the way home from work to try and get it from a different perspective and angle. The light/weather wasn't super but I did get Longs Peak in the background. It was cold and windy out so I shot from inside my car (wuss) so I had to bump up the ISO so I could hand hold it.

That’s a great view. I’d keep going back.

I like your latest shot of it better than the others. Very neat looking place.

I like the whole set and its frame "progression".
Well done and bravo for returning/reshooting.
