Wish to buy a new Mac computer early in 2018, they all will come with MacOS Sierra. Paid so much money to Adobe over the past 20+ years don't want to join the pay every month club. Lightroom 5 fits my needs very well and I do like to print from it, so I want to keep Lightroom. So will Lightroom 5.7.1 work with MacOS Sierra 10.12 and I also use Photoshop CS6 and InDesign CS6.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

I am still with El Capitan, on à iMac 5k. My CS6 programs run poorly on it, but they do run. LR 5 does not work on capitan and Iassumewill not run on sierra

Ive got installed on a mac mini running latest OS, LR 5.I just tried it and it opened. Must admit dont use it anymore, so cant tell what it performs like

I have Lightroom 5.7.1 left unused on my 5 year old Macbook pro. It opens in High Sierra. I have kept it as a fall back if I abandon LR CC but not used it since making the switch.

My old MacBook Pro is running Mac OS X 10.12. I found that LR 4.x is still functional. I forgot that I installed LR 4 on that Mac, so LR 5 should be OK on your computer.should work

Hi,
I made an error when I wrote: I am still with El Capitan, on à iMac 5k. My CS6 programs run poorly on it, but they do run. LR 5 does not work on capitan and Iassumewill not run on sierra.
It is LR 4 that Ii was not able to move to my new iMac.
The CS6 programs (PS, Illustrator, etc.) work but I found InDesign CS6 to be occasionally frustrating to use, so I bit the bullet and got the CC version.
Sorry for the incorrect info, I should have checked before writing!

LR 5.71 and OS 10.13.1 seems to run fine. I say seem as I haven’t tried everything of course.

Thank you, everyone. It seems that I have a decent chance of getting my wish, a new computer and keeping LR 5. As a safety.I just purchased the standalone Lightroom 6, just in case.

If you now have LR6, why not just use LR6 then?
