Title: Has anyone used Xpozer prints and hanging system?
Post by: stockjock on October 12, 2017, 09:23:02 pm
I just got an email from Aspen Creek Photo saying that they were going to start offering the Xpozer prints and hanging system and it looks like Bay Photo has been selling them for a while.  They appear to be pigment prints on a matte vinyl substrate that is hung with a unique tensioning system.  I'm curious if anybody has had Xpozer prints made and how you feel about the color gamut and accuracy as well as the quality of the display system.  No representations are being made about how archival the prints are so that is an interesting question as well.  If the prints do have good gamut, accuracy, and display life it looks like a very attractive system.

I haven't measured anything so is strictly opinion. I Have had 3 prints done through Bayphoto with Xpozer system sold them too. Using a print service it is a cost effective route to go large and be ready to display. I think they would be great for a photography show to show work, easy to hang, more durable than most media and packs easy.

It has a matte like finish, came accurate to my monitor in my opinion. The hanging system is very easy. Though if looking for a completely flat image like aluminum at a given distance from wall you will be disappointed. They look very good and grab a lot of attention if in a area people can view.

I sold the 3 I had so no idea how they hold up in sunlight etc.

Thanks for your comments.   When you say they don't hang completely flat what do you mean by that?  Are there ripples in the print or is it just a minor curve or ...?

The print is stretched so looks very good no ripples. But yes mine have had a minor curve to it, enough I noticed but not enough to try anything to remedy it. I have thought of shimming though it hasn't bothered me to do the effort yet, it really is minor in my opinion.
