The Playa As Catedrais, in Galicia close to Asturias' border, reveals itself only for a while at low tide. To see it and enjoy its amazing beauty, you have to be there at the right time and conquer it by slowly wading into the receding tide: once you get this natural cathedral, the show in front of you makes it all worth it though.

Hi Vieri,
Lovely picture, I'm from Galicia (although I live in Barcelona right now), nice to see this around here.
So, if some people tries to go to the "Praia das Catedrais" several things
- in summer it can get really crowded... the beach is very popular... , also, I think now in summer, they limit the maximum number of people that can go down
- always know when the sea tide is going up, the picture of Vieri is of one of the corners of the beach, if you are there, and see the tide going up, you may think you are ok, but to reach the stairs to get up the cliff, you pass for a place that is lower than this one, and the water level there can already be one meter high. You will not be the first photographer that I saw there with the camera bag over their head trying to go back... basically, check the tide timetables before you go there.

Good capture, the soft light on the rocks pronounces the shape of the actual bigger scene. Very beautiful.

Wonderful. The only "argument" I have are the footprints, but impossible to remove/avoid.

Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed it! :) Yes, As Catedrais is definitely worth a visit - mind the tide though, at high tide it's simply impossible to get down to the beach.

Thank you Paulo! Yes, to get rid of the footprints you'd have to either photoshop them out (tough!), or perhaps try and get there at sunrise rather than sunset ;) Next time I'll get there, this September, I'll see what I can do :D
