Minimalist shot from the Cairngorms in Scotland. Just as I was taking this shot the rain started and spoiled the mirror like surface of the Loch but gives it a texture. Nikon D810 Nikkon 70-200 f4 @ 145mm f16 1/5s. Ken

Wonderful. Zen in Scotland...

Yes it is wonderful and it is Zen in Scotland but to me it is just so characteristic of so much that is essential Scotland ... the relentless rain of the West Coast the regular July and August rain elsewhere - giving that luscious encompassing damp wonderfulness that is the essence of the landscape ... and the people. Without that the glorious breakthroughs of light and warmth - both in landscape and people - would not have the force and impact that I remember so well from many years as a regular visitor.
Those who know Scotland well - especially the Highlands and the north west coast - will instinctively understand how such a sparse image can say so much.
Thank you Mr Rennie - time and again your images refresh those memories for me. Much appreciated.

Lovely. I think you were lucky, if wet. It wouldn't be half as effective with a reflective water surface.

So clean… no unwanted element, just the essential.
Bravo

Less is more, well done.

+1. Gorgeous.

Thanks very much for the very positive comments. I actually visited this location to take images of the Scots Pine Forests but failed completely to get anything decent, much more work needed on depth of field and composition. I tried hard to separate the 3 elements but failed without step ladders. Anyway here is a single element but I prefer the original. Any comments welcome. Ken

Pleasing, but not a patch on the first.
