Title: GH5 Sleep mode and firmware problem?
Post by: Rob Reiter on April 28, 2017, 12:51:43 pm
If I select a Custom set of shooting parameters, C1, C2, etc., and override them during a shooting session-aperture, ISO, white balance-and then turn the camera off, when I turn it back on everything is reset to the Custom setting I last saved when I set it up. That's to be expected. But I lose any temporary overrides after the camera wakes up from sleep mode, making that mode useless. Is there a menu option that fixes this, or is a firmware fix needed? Is anyone else experiencing this or could it possibly be restricted to a specific camera? I've got Firmware Ver. 1.1 installed.

That's to be expected. But unlike with my GH4, I also lose any temporary overrides after the camera wakes up from sleep mode, making that mode useless. I've had the same problem (also FW 1.1), and my fix is to leave one of the five C choices open for a temporary mod. of another C. So before shutting off, I simply copy my modded C3-3 to C1 which I leave open for this. After all, you don't want to lose the original setup you're modifying.

That's a good idea, Pete. Thanks!
