I'd like to see more of the lovely textures in the wood.

Not bad, Russ, not bad at all.

Now use that famed Nikon (Sony) dynamic range and pull out some of the dark blue sky, tame the lamp highlights and get some more texture out of the wood, as Jeremy already suggested.

Thanks Jeremy and Slobodan. Actually, I shot the lamp with the Olympus Pen-F with a Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm lens. But don't despair. DxO OpticalPro Elite 11 is on its way to me. I plan to test it out on this shot, and also on the two much better night pictures from St. Augustine that I posted before this one. I'm particularly interested to see what I can do with the little lamp-lighted tavern I shot from its doorway as I was passing by. Strangely enough, I've found that the Olympus with its Leica lens is a better night tool than the D750 with a 50mm f/1.4. The biggest difference is that the Nikon 50mm has no VR, but the Olympus has internal VR. In either case, under these circumstances you're shooting at some pretty high ISOs and low shutter speeds. I hope the DxO software lives up to its billing. We'll see.
