Love the first, Scott. The huge halo in the second isn't my cup of tea, though.

#1 is good, I wonder if you have a horizontal framing, to show more of the mountains to the sides?

#2 is good too, not usual. The halo is nicely complemented by the circular shaded area in the foreground.

'Halo' was a bit of an experiment to see if I could get everything from the bright sun to the shadows. Technically that worked out I think.

Paulo: yes, I had a version in landscape orientation but discarded it because the posted version focused on the message.

Nice shots. I like the halo and often try to work them into my shots when they are visible.
