Title: Contax N1 Film Camera
Post by: vmmorais on July 29, 2006, 11:28:08 am
Dear Members

I am asking for some advice since I am planning to buy a used CONTAX N1 film camera in mint condition. I like very much the camera mainly because the Carl Zeiss lenses (24-85 zomm and a 50mm primary lens) but also because the camera has some features I like (eg, the availability of spot metering).
I am nevertheless afraid of what can happen if the camera someday will need technical assistance, because, as everyone knows the production of Contax cameras has been discontinued. Has somebody some ideas of how can we obtain technical assistance (including repairing) to a discontinued camera? Does someone knows if Kyocera will do that job?
Please give me some advice on this matters.

Victor

Well, my advice is: DON'T :-(

To have an idea of the technical assistance that you will NOT find, you may just search now on the internet... for example starting from the Contax website... if you still find it... :-(

I stopped using my 139Q for this reason.
