Hello,
Anyone tried out this combination? How does it compare to the H5 or H6 sensors? Like the idea of shooting in 120 film on a digital camera.
-
The H5X does support film backs, H5D models should not work with them. The H6D also shouldn't work with film backs.
-
The H6D DOES support the film back.

Film Compatibility -YES

The h5d and h6d support the film backs

Maybe i should've rephrased my question better...
With the H5/H6's digital sensors, does it make sense to use an HMI back with bodies newer than H4?
-
If you like shooting film along with digital, yes.

H4 and newer, will give you True Focus, film doesn't care what the body is, but it will love the lenses.

The film doesn't care, but the body won't fire if the back isn't compatible and as far as I know only the H4X is compatible in the H4 series.

I know the H5 series was enabled with a software update and the H6 shipped as compatible I am not aware of the H4 series other than the X but agree that I think not as well, willing to be corrected by an owner.

H4D series cameras will not work with a film back. The H4X brought TrueFocus to the open H mount that PhaseOne/Leaf work with.
