Superb. I would call that abstract.

Excellent catch Harald. How did you find the moment when nobody was around? Or did you do some pp to get rid of people? Not that I mind, just curious! :)

It was a grey and foggy morning - actually no weather for strolling at the beach. This shot were taken a few minutes after the sky cleared up a little bit. Interestingly, I was quite confident that I'm getting a great picture. That happens quite rarely to me.

I like it. Simple tones and an interesting structure. This picture has a narrative. Beautiful.

Evocative and minimalist. Nice.

Excellent!

Great catch.

I like it too although I wouldn't call it abstract. It's very much a photo of a scene with a light post(s), benches, and the sea. Perhaps minimalist would be a more accurate term.

~minimalist, gull...

I'd go with minimalist too. Great pic in any case.

Harald~ The original I think would have worked too with just a bit more headroom. I liked him there... nice surprise. Actually played with a bit of content aware scaling to give him flight room and move the image toward square in doing so. Simply like the quietly serene atmosphere. (Don't lose him, you may find you miss him there. ;) ) Like.

~also, I can almost feel bodies there, as in 6-8 min. exposure and their decision to remain apart, with no pause in doing so. A lot more here than meets the first eye.

Don't be worry, I'm not going to miss him. But with the missing headroom you've got a real pain point because I've took a second frame in which I sacrified some foreground in order to get more headroom. Unfortunately, it's blurred!
That's the problem when you strolling around with just one fixed lens (here my 23 f1.4 honey). It was kind of a situation which everyone of us knows. The frame was determined by the horizonatal elements and I couldn't go back further because the promenade of Scheveningen is limited by a wall... A kingdom for my 18 mm...
After all it remains a snapshot with all of it quirks. I'm pretty sure that next time I'm visiting my daughter in The Hague I won't have this serene atmosphere. Sometime it's hard to just be an amateur :(
PS: Thank you for getting your teeth into my picture.
