Title: Condensation
Post by: BobDavid on February 15, 2017, 03:53:50 pm
Snapped this at a Vietnamese restaurant.

I had a tour in Vietnam and I can tell you that that looks just like Vietnamese condensation.

I'm glad you made it back and intact. I recall looking at some of the photos that you took while you were in the service--good stuff.

Nice picture.

I'll have to admit that I can't tell the difference between Japanese and Vietnamese  condensation.

Nice indeed.

It tool me 7 years, but I am now able to distinguish the condensations in Thailand, Vietnam and Japan... impressive, i know!

Cheers,
Bernard

No, it's an optical illusion brought on by the juxtaposition of the pink with the grey/cyan. Just think back to primitive red/green 3D specs and you'll see at once how the trick was pulled!

The condesation isn't. The glass comes like that from the shop, designed for service in cheap bars where they have no ice, but lots of smiling girls asking you to buy them some champagne (actually made from grape-simulating esters, but they don't advertise this)... You pay for the real deal, though, and everybody is happy except for you, and whilst you may get one thing, you'll almost certainly go home with another.

Far from home, go teetotal and celibate into the night. I think my scout master told me that.

Very impressive, Bernard. I also spent a year and a half in Thailand, a year in Korea, and, collectively, about a month and a half in Japan -- a week of it at the Fujuya hotel when it was an R&R center for temporary escapees from Korea. I know my condensation, because in some of those places -- especially during the rainy season -- there was a lot of condensation.

Reminds me of my days in Florida.  As a Canadian, I'm used to condensation on the inside of windows.
At Denny's in Cocoa Beach, there was a guy continually squeegeeing the outside of the windows.  Amazing.

The photo was taken in Sarasota, Florida, where is condensation constant.

Cool shot - I like it, though I'm no expert on Asian condensation.

I like it too. And what would you think of a slight POV move to the left to separate the glass from the stuff in the bkg and to get the chairs symmetrical to go with the square frame?
Revised: Uh, POV move to the right!

Precisely what I thought.
