Title: Canon or Epson for 24" printer for MatteBlack use?
Post by: gwhitf on January 25, 2017, 05:21:42 pm
Looking to buy a 24" wide printer for use with watercolor and matte papers only. I'm curious about overall satisfaction between Epson and Canon current models. (I'm still feeling the sting from unfixable print-head LLK fiasco with an old 7900, that's now in the dumpster).

I hear the Canon has individual, user-replaceable heads now.

But curious about best D-Max black between Canon and Epson current models, using MatteBlack, for sheet feeding.

Thank you for any feedback.

Check out HP Z3200 printer.  Beautiful B/W both matte & gloss/satin/pearl.

For matt B&W I would put it in this order: Epson with Piezography > HP > Epson > Canon...

Too bad that 7900 is in the dumpster.
With that missing channel it would have been perfect for a piezography setup.
