I like both images a lot.
#2 is an intriguing images to which a lot of interesting metaphors could apply but I confess that #2 is my favourite by far.
The detail and repeating patterns are just fascinating as is the light.

I always know who to look to for interesting and intriguing images!

More "classic" BobDavids. Both very evocative, but in different ways.
