Imaginative and different.

A stunning shot, Graeme. Bravo!

I love it but it looks a little flat to me. The highlights seem too low. I think it is this crappy monitor I have at work though. Will reassess when I get home. Well seen regardless.

I'd guess it's your monitor, George. On my calibrated monitor the highs are right there at the edge of blowout and the lows are solid black. It's a very low-key picture which, at least to me, makes it even more appealing.

I'm home now. It was the monitor at work. I need to stay out of the Critique forum while at work. ;)

Thanks for all the comments & kind words.
I'm going through an indecisive phase with my photo stuff at the moment, particularly with BW conversions. ( I'm usually pretty decisive in life - often wrong but at least decisively wrong ). I'm most likely over thinking stuff rather than relying on intuition as I normally do. It was probably a mistake to attempt to read Vincent Versace's book on BW conversions, I should have just looked at his photos which are marvellous.
Hope you all have a good Christmas.
Best wishes
Graeme

Excellent, very atmospheric and even those what I would normally consider to be horrible windmills in the background, add to the atmospheric windswept feeling of the shot.
