Title: Sunrise at Manley Beacon
Post by: Vieri Bottazzini on November 19, 2016, 03:50:10 am
Zabriskie Point is one of Death Valley's most famous spots; here's Manley Beacon's ridge just after sunrise under a stormy sky.

With the Leica M-P (Typ 240) and the 35mm Summilux FLE. Best,

It's a great take on this popular place. The moving clouds really add something.
Well done, as usual!

The clouds add a hell of a lot. DV must be one of the very few places where it's possible to say that someone was fortunate to have bad weather!

Voice of descent...Strongly dislike the motion of the clouds. Otherwise great shot IMHO

Thank you very much Francois, I am glad you enjoyed it and the little movement of the clouds, which sort of "echo" the shapes of the badlands below ;)

Thank you Eric! :)

Thank you Jeremy, glad you liked it :) Well, in DV a featureless full-blue sky doesn't help any; to me, most all landscapes benefit from a bit of drama in the sky, though ;)

Thank you Sandro! Sorry about the WM, a necessary evil... :)

Walt, thank you for your comment! I appreciate that moving clouds is not something that everyone likes, but here I thought it'd add to the shot by "echoing" the shape of the badlands below. Hope you'll like better the next one then! :D

Walt, I said that really meaning it. Especially on the "artistic" side of things, it is impossible to please everyone every time, and I am absolutely fine with it :D All the best,

Vieri
