Great catch, Jeremy! Did you look up, see the light, and grab it, or did you wait and wait, hoping the sun would do something interesting?

Good question. That's a fine sky.

Good sky, and the foreground isn't too shabby either

A very fine image indeed, Jeremy!
The only comment I would make is that I find the weeds in the foreground distracting and I would recommend an 8x10 (or so) crop from the top leaving only the leading lines of the rows of grape vines.

Thanks, all.

Russ, it was a bit of both. We'd just arrived at the château where we to spend the week (and where we held our wedding blessing ten years ago). I looked up and saw an interesting sky, so I went up to the bedroom, set up and waited. The sun set very quickly, which was a shame as the sky remained interesting for a while after the light had left the village church. It's an idyllic spot for a holiday.

David, fair point. It would take a rather brutal crop to remove all of that plant (a garden bush, not a weed), but the upper bits might be (neologism alert!) outclonable.
