Title: Vegas area last week of October?

Hi,
 I have never been near Las Vegas but may end up there the last week of October for work travel. I could use some tips about day trips to natural landscape photo opportunities.

Valley of Fire State Park, a half hour drive north. Hands down winner.
Failing that, the circle tour from North Las Vegas to Henderson via Hoover Dam.
Either trip will take most of a day. Worth every second.
Distant third: Red Rock Canyon.

Neat ghost town with a lot of old buildings and old cars. Great photo op.

I had been planning that trip that Peter spoke of from the Bellagio in Las Vegas where we were going to stay.   Hits all those three places.   Unfortunately due to illness we had to cancel.  In any case, I had the road trip planned out in Google Maps.  Have a nice time and post some pictures.   https://goo.gl/maps/As7nxrfaxV32

The last week of October is one of the best times of the year to be in Zion National Park. It will take you about 2.5 hours to get there from Vegas which isn't all that much considering what you get out of this this wonderful National Park. Believe me, it will be worth the drive.  :)

Zion and Bryce were also on our tour list that we had to cancel. we picked good time of the year.  Oct 19-20.  Had a map for that too. https://goo.gl/maps/9bXBT5iJyN52   Cliffrose Lodge was where we were going to stay in Zion.  Maybe you can get our room :)

 HI,
 Thank you for the suggestion about Zion National Park. I have spent quite a bit of time in Zion, South Utah, and the Grand Staircase area, and I love being in that area, but I have not been any where near Las Vegas so I am hoping to learn as much as possible about the near by opportunities that I am unfamiliar with.
