Post by: jsch on September 15, 2016, 02:54:31 pm
Hi,

does a sensor size of 62x46 mm qualify for Medium Format?

Any word on how much this will be ? Seems like it's targeted at the hipster market.

DPReview says that pricing and availability has not been announced.

Totally hipster IMHO :D

This makes you think before you press the shutter release button.
I hope it catches on (:-)

Leica Sofort: https://en.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-Sofort
Compare:
Leica Sofort: https://en.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-Sofort
Fujifilm instax mini 90 NEO CLASSIC: http://www.fujifilm.com/products/instant_photo/cameras/instax_mini_90/
The Fujifilm version costs about $150, so let's see what the Leica premium is.

62x46 mm is also the film size, since this is an "instant contact print" film camera.  So I'd say yes, it is medium format.
