This is a very touching image, one that you could look at for more than a few seconds which means it works. Well done.

Thanks, everybody.

I love photographing children, probably because  I was a child once, as somebody once immortally said about himself.

Unfortunately, taking street pictures of children nowadays is a a very dangerous enterprise, especially at a beach, as I found once in Brisbane's Gold Coast where I nearly got arrested for perfect street standards. At the time, I was shooting images of the beach-guards' stations whose elaborate luxury we don't see in my local of the woods.

Try telling your story  to the cops  -  they never heard  of street photography. Maybe never of photography!

They explained I was shooting in the the hottest pedophilia spot in the country and they'd got a report about me  - apparently, somebody had phoned in about a suspicious grey-haired man taking pictures of children on the beach.

Me.

 Are you fucking codding me!

Police: No sir, we have a report and we have to follow it up. Procedure.

Jesus!

Anyway, it was all sorted out in the end, but my God, what a way to learn for all street shooters to be careful out there.

Lesson: elderly alone with a camera spells DANGER.....
