Title: Colorthink 2.x experience
Post by: Hendrik on June 09, 2006, 05:13:44 pm
I just played with ColorThink version 2.2 and experienced many program lockups and very frequent n01 errors. It’s almost impossible to use.

I wanted to see if it’s something to purchase in the near future (the ColorThink Pro 3 version?), but after this experience …

Am I the only one with bad luck? What’s your experience?

I work on a Windows XP Pro machine.

I'm not chasing you around Hendrik

I run both ColorThink 2 and ColorThink Pro 3.0 on Windows XP Pro.

Version 2 is pretty stable on my system but crashes now and then.

Version Pro 3 still contains a lot of bugs, but feature wise it's fantastic and practically unrivalled (See [a href=\"http://www.colorforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=412)]http://www.colorforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=412)[/url].
From what I've read, Alwan ColorPursuit may be comparable, but it's Mac only.

If you ask me, when version 3 was released, it was actually still a beta, but I believe that in the end Steve Upton will come up with a stable version. It just takes a while.
What I really miss in version 3 is a good manual that will show us some real world examples that Steve Upton had in mind when he created the little gem.

I use Version 2.2 regularly on Windows XP SP2 and have never had any problems with it.  Is there something in particular that causes the reported problems?
