Do you find this interesting? are the shadows too dark-I like them, but not sure if the darkness is competeing with the splatt?

I don't know if it is distortion or angle of the shot, but something about it is disconcerting to me.

An adjustment and another perspective with more environment. Help any?

You ask if I find it interesting and I'm afraid I don't. I guess it's mildly amusing but not enough to carry the show but maybe I have missed the point and your intent.

Thank you drmike; exactly what I was asking and why I put it up. Every parent thinks his own baby is beautiful. Very helpful

And everyone knows how risky it is to even slightly criticise someone else's baby - but I like to live on the edge :)

Glad you took it in the spirit it was intended.

FWIW I have taken loads of shots like that and come to the same conclusion.

Absolutely!!! I appreciate criticism. How else can I learn and I wouldn't ask if I didn't want to know. For my "real" job I have been cutting and coloring women's hair for 30+ years. At least the photographs don't burst into tears, or rage, (hopefully only in the beginning) :). My guess at this point is that as my photograph"eye" gets better, the post shutter results will become more like my pre-shutter expectations. Again, thank you and everyone who has taken the time/interest to even comment on anything I put up.  t

I'm with you, getting advice from the knowledgeable here is invaluable - not that I'm one but you asked a question I could answer! The depth of expertise here is so useful.

Yes, this has been so helpful; reading what others share about my stuff AND what is said about the work posted by photographers way above my level. It is as close as I am ecevr going to be able to get to art school. Thank you again.
