Title: The WP Tree
Post by: maddogmurph on May 19, 2016, 10:44:16 pm
I saw this tree first in one of Peter Bartelings photographs. He had done an interesting, and well lit rendition that I greatly enjoyed. I think it's also one of his favorite photographs of the area. It's so simple, yet has a clean, natural, and interesting feel to it. A minimalist approach and a tribute to nature as the grand artist all at the same time. I am sure many photographs of this tree exist, but I have yet to see one during the twilight hours, so I thought I'd make it back to this spot at my favorite time of the day for photography and see how it came out. The blue hour they call it, is an amazing time for light, it seems to cast everything into slightly different hues, and make contrasting lines glow.

Nice work. I think it would also work well in a more panoramic format.
