I need to quote the use of a panoramic image as a front/back wrap around for a University's New Student Guide. They plan on printing 2700 of them (small school).
I have done covers before for similar uses but I'm wondering about the back cover. Would you just double the front cover price? Or since it is still a single image would you quote something like 150% of the cover price?
Just curious how others have handled similar scenarios.
I have FotoQuote Pro software but can't find anything that matches this situation there. Not sure about that software, really. Good for reference but the numbers come out very high. I wish I could change what they recommend!

I would probably go with 150% of the front cover license fee. I might be willing to negotiate from there depending on how badly I wanted the sale. Is there any chance they may want to re-license the image in subsequent years?
-
They usually do a new image each year from what I have seen so probably not. 150% seemed right to me too. Thanks for the confirmation.
I usually throw in a unlimited use quote too, in case they are thinking of multiple uses.

How do you define unlimited? Electronic and trade show is okay, but you don't want them to consider it a buy out that they can resell or reprint without another license.

Print and electronic use for promotion. I exclude any reselling but include reprinting and priced it accordingly.

I think this is the way you should price it.

I know, but for crying out loud it just NEVER gets old:})

Well they didn't go for that but we worked something out that was acceptable to everyone and will lead to more jobs with them.

You didn't really fall for that one, did you? :-)

The amount of times I've heard, "if you help us with this one, there will be more jobs in the future."

Well it's true I may be a sucker but I'm hoping it pans out. I gave them a 25% reduction off my original quote because the person I was dealing with only had that much left in the budget. The organization has been a pretty good client over the years so I figured I could give them the benefit of the doubt. I had a little wiggle room in the quote anyway and I needed some cash flow right now.
-
Well it being a good and consistent client is a different story.

Maybe more sporadic than consistent, but I hope to make it more consistent.
