Post by: stever on April 14, 2016, 05:18:05 pm
all of a sudden when I go in to the develop module - a) it takes a long time b) I get a horrible pixelated posterized image - library images are all as usual.

Could it be a corrupt raw cache, as it affects only Develop Mocule?

You can purge it Edit menu -> Preferences -> File Handling tab -> Camera Raw Cache Settings sub-panel.

I've never had to do this, but it's the only thing I can think to try.

thanks, doesn't seem to be the problem - I can view 1:1 preview in library and seems to appear normally in the detail window of develop while the main image display is posterized - same behavior before and after purging cache

I'm clutching at straws here: try disabling use of the graphics processor (Edit menu -> Preferences -> Performance tab).

The graphics processor is used only by Develop Module.

Mac or Win?

I have had this happen with later versions of LR CC after a crash.  All kind of things can go wrong and LR seems to crash more often for me.

I would also try resetting all your preferences, deleting the cache again.  Also try importing a new image, as a test and see if you get the same problem.  You can also backup the catalog, then move it to a new location and then point LR to that location and see if the problem persists.

Worst case, you may need to remove it all together and re-install the program.

Try recalibrating the screen. It sounds like a corrupt monitor profile.

the graphics processor did it.  I now remember this happened when I installed v6.  how the processor enabled itself remains a mystery.

THANKS!

And Adobe Camera Raw with the processor on?
