Congrats! Nice effort.
Its a beautiful part of the world. I use to travel through there on my way to Twenty-nine Palms Marine Corps Base.

Hello all,
I have hastily put up some images from a recent trip to Joshua Tree. This has been a huge learning experience for me as I prepare for a Alain Briot workshop next month. Thanks to Michael for his great articles on Joshua. This was my first photographic excursion (post business trip) that I have ever taken. It was my first photo excursion with the Canon 10D and assorted digital accessories. All worked well from the Delkin Picture Pad to the 4gb drive. I did shoot some in the San Diego wildlife park (images soon) and found the 4gb Hitachi microdrive to be significantly slower than my 512mb Extreme Sandisk compact flash. For me, Joshua Tree was always more tranquil in the morning. Keyes View was very harsh on the afternoon that I visited. If I had it to do again, I would spend more time in the Joshua Trees around Hidden Valley. The light can be spectacular there and I don't think I captured it just right. I do have a few more images that might make the cut, but this is all for now. I used digital blending on 80% of the images. I also tried out the PhotoKit Sharpener plugin and really found that I had better results with it than with Focal Blade. I hope you like the images and any comments are appreciated. Thanks.
