Hello David:
Is it safe to assume that Phase will be supporting the X-Pro2 with C1 at sometime in the future?
Thanks

and why'd it would be possible to assume otherwise ? X-Pro2 suddenly a MF camera competing with P1 products ? anything different in principle from other Fuji cameras ? rumors that P1 stopping C1 development ?

Not sure of your points alterego,
Net, Iridient , LR, etc all have support out, just wondering about C1, that's all. In fact, both have had support prior to the camera shipping.
I personally don't see the X-Pro2 as a MF camera.
Thanks

not sure what is the point to ask such a question (the original post) - do you have any valid reason to believe that P1 is not going to support X-Pro2 as soon as they can (with whatever testing/coding/profile building/etc) according to their release schedules ?

We can bounce this back and forth as long as you want.
Sorry I feel it's a valid question. Camera is out, and I would like to get an estimate as to time frame to see when C1 will support the raw files. Glad to see you are so confident. I am not, agreed, move on. Next?

I remember that David grover once explained P1's strictly non-announcement-policy.
For me that's O.K.. Far better than Fujis strategy of deliberately leaked pre-pre-pre-announcements as seen recently at the X-Pro2. Right now I have a lot of fun with my X-Pro2's B&W OOC's. I'm quite confident that P1 will deliver some day in 2016.

Hey Paul,
Harald is quite right in that we prefer not to give estimates on time frames.
We know its a popular camera and support will be added as soon as possible.

David, thanks.
Fuji has made some giant steps forward with this new chip, and Phase One has an excellent solution for the raw, (16MP sized).

That's wonderful news and I have downloaded this version immedately. While I realize it is preliminary support for the X-Pro2, I felt I should report that lens (barrel) distortion at least the 35 mm F2 R WR is very visible and as yet it cannot be corrected with 'Distortion', which is greyed out.
Hopefully this will be corrected soon, as I dearly miss CO1 when processing files (Fuji X-Pro2).

Hi Piet,
Just to be sure, under LENS CORRECTION do you see “Manufacturer Profile” there? And are also “Chromatic Aberration” and “Hide Distorted Areas” activated?
If so then it looks like the lens corrections are not working (properly).
-
Hi Jaap,
No the profiles are not activated. All prime Fuji lenses seem to be fine however --although there is no proper profile listed or activated-- with the exception of the 35 F2 WR and the 18 mm F2. These two lenses show very significant barrel distortion which cannot, as yet, be corrected with CO1. So with this version one cannot change distortion, Light Falloff etc for any lens. Purple defringing however seems to be working.
I had made a support case with Phase One and although they seemed to be unaware of the 'missing' profiles for these two specific lenses, they acknowledge that support for the X-Pro2, including these probably temporary 'flaws', is in a preliminary state. They wouldn't say or promise anything for the future.

Actually the profiles are not missing, the distortion correction data are included in the raw file, simply CO 9.1.1 is not using them, with this particular camera.

Agreed. Therefore it looks like the lens corrections are not working (properly). It should work just the same as with an X-Pro1 or X-T1 but apparantly it does not.
