This is funny, Nikon's advertising seems quite confused

Maybe an art director at the agency created a mock up of the ad and it accidentally ran. Strange things can happen. Several years ago an art director loaded cartridges backwards in a magazine for a print ad for Heckler & Koch. For anyone who knew firearms it looked completely ridiculous. It's hard to imagine how it could be approved to go into final circulation, but it did. If you ever look at print advertising that features outdoor sporting equipment in lifestyle photographs you can find all kinds of strange anomalies. It drives me nuts to see fishing rods held upside down in print advertising. It's obvious that neither the art director nor the photographer nor the models in the shots knew anything about the equipment they were using.
