Title: Color Picker In Local Adjustment
Post by: Robert Boire on March 13, 2016, 11:09:09 am
Hi,

When doing local adjustments, is there a way to first 'read' the color under the eyedropper and display its position in the 'select a color popup' before adjusting the color itself.

I am pretty sure I have seen this done but I cannot easily find it in the manual and cannot figure out the method.

Thanks

Also, the RGB (in %) is shown in the histogram panel as you mouse over your image.

Thanks...

I don't know, I must be missing something. It seems like sometime this works, sometimes it doesn't. Usually the little square in the tool does not move as I move the eyedropper around.

If this is the case then I can't help you - it always works for me.  Can you consistently reproduce it not working?

Guys,
thanks for the question and response.  I never knew that this functionality existed.

Lets say it almost never works for me.  Sometimes I get lucky, but I cannot do it consistently.

Do you need to paint the area you are interested in before your select the color picker ..or after

Either way, makes no difference.  Just to cover the obvious, you have to keep the mouse button depressed while you are dragging.  What computer and operating system are you using?

Hi,

Ya of course that is what I did.

Anyways, now its working.  I was running LR 6.1 and upgraded to 6.4. I did not expect this would make a difference since its a feature that predates LR 6...But nevertheless....

Thanks for your help.

The color picker got broken with the 6.1 update, fixed with 6.2.

It is in the graduated filter, radial filter and adjustment brush panels.  As far as I know it does not have a shortcut.
